Stimulus Package Clearly Explained

Lately, US taxpayers have been bombarded by the news media with news about the proposed economic stimulus payment. This is a very exciting new program. To make it easy to explain and understand, the Q and A format will be used:

Q. What is an economic stimulus payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send back to US businesses and to the taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get the money?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. Does it then mean that the government is giving back to the taxpayer his own money?
A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is for the taxpayer to spend the money to make purchases (such as, a high-definition TV set), thereby stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up.

Below are some helpful advice on how to help the U.S. economy by spending your stimulus check wisely.

1) Do not spend the money on any foreign-made products, such as:

appliances, clothes, toys, since the money will only go to China;
cars (foreign), it will go to France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, or Sweden;
computers, it will go to China or India;
electronic gadgets, it will go to China, Germany, Japan, or Korea;
fruits and vegetables, it will go to Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, or Mexico (unless you buy locally-grown organic produce);
oil and gasoline (except US oil products), it will go to the Arabs, the Mexicans, or Hugo Chavez of Venezuela;
any other useless trinkets and crap, it will go to Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, or Taiwan.

None of the above will help the American economy.

2) Keep the money in the USA by spending it on only US-made products and services:

automobiles only (Chrysler, GMC, Ford);
beer and wine (domestically produced);
funerals;
prostitutes;
sports event (baseball or football games);
pawn shops;
tattoos;
weddings;
yard sales.

These are the only businesses which are still in the USA and American-owned.
