Conundrum

Conundrum is defined as: something that is puzzling or confusing.

Below are examples of conundrum in the USA:

1. In the USA, government is "greedy" but the government subsidizes (gives freebies) to a large segment of the US population.
  • The segment of the population that is government subsidized think they are victims;
  • As victims, they have voted [like the rest of the unsubsidized segment of population who pay taxes and carry the load of the victims] for their elected representatives to run the government;
  • The elected representatives in the process of running the government. . .allegedly the so-called victims (also referred to as the poor) have been getting poorer;
  • The poor (victims) who are supposedly getting poorer have things that people in other countries only dream about;
  • The elected representatives of the poor (victims) who have things that people in other countries only dream about. . .want those other countries to be like the USA (or vice versa?).
2. In the USA, with a national debt and budget deficit in the trillions of dollars. . .the government raises the debt ceiling even more, gets in debt even more, and spends even more money it does not have.

Moreover, the government calls Social Security benefits "entitlement" to those who worked hard and paid taxes into the Social Security retirement fund, and the government claims that the Social Security fund is going to run out of money. However, the same government says nothing about cutting out welfare (food stamps and other freebies) and free aid & Social Security benefits to illegal immigrants and social parasites, who do not/have not pay taxes.

3. In the USA, US veterans' benefits are being cut and the military is being down-sized, while the government continues to spend billions of dollars toward "foreign aid".

4. In the USA, it is considered:

unacceptable to judge all Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics; but
acceptable to judge all US gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Is there a rational explanation as to why the above is happening in the USA today?

Does the kind of brain the people who presently run the government have anything to do with it? And they have been appointed, elected, employed/hired and well paid to run the government today?

Well, that is the reality in the USA today!
