My Gun

Today, I left my front door wide open and placed my Remington 30.06 in the doorway. Also, I left six (6) live shells beside it, and then I left it alone while I went about doing some household chores.
 

Meanwhile, I saw the mailman deliver my mail; the neighbor across the street mow his yard; several people walk their dog down the street; and quite a few cars stop at the STOP sign near my house.
 

Also, after an hour or so, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I had left it. It did not move at all. And it certainly did not kill anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had to do so. In fact, it did not even bother to load the live shells which I left beside it.
 

So, what is all the media hype about how dangerous guns are because they kill people?
Either the media is wrong in reporting the conclusion of "authorities" that, "guns kill people" or my gun is the laziest in the world!
 

And get this. . .
 

According to the "authorities" (again) as reported by the mainstream news media, the USA has the third highest murder rate in the world.
However, if Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans & Washington D.C. are excluded from the data, the United States has one of the lowest murder rates worldwide; in fact, the USA is the fourth from the bottom!
 

Yet, the above-named U.S. cities have the toughest gun control laws in the entire nation. So, what does that tell you?

And now, I better check on the forks & spoons since they supposedly help to make people fat. –Contributed by Ralph
