Pro-family groups are accusing the attorney general of the United States of committing "lawlessness" with his plan requiring members of the Department of Justice to give full and equal recognition to same-gender "marriages."
Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs for the American Family Association, believes Attorney General Eric Holder is out of control with his latest gifts to homosexual activists.
The host of Sandy Rios in the Morning on American Family Radio says while the Justice Department has no interest in investigating "Fast and Furious" or the September 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, it has plenty for homosexual rights – and that it's accurate to say under the Obama administration, "money and privilege for homosexuals trumps life and liberty for other Americans."
"In no phrase or article of the Constitution is there a clause that grants the president or his attorney general the right to ignore laws passed by Congress while granting rights that do not exist," she tells OneNewsNow. "It's time for the American Congress to prepare articles of impeachment."
Rios adds the executive branch "is out of control" by refusing to enforce laws passed by Congress and then granting rights to homosexuals.
"This is a fight over the survival of the country," she shares. "This is a war between people who love this country and want to protect and preserve it and their children and future generations, and those who literally want to undermine and destroy its laws, its nature, [and to] fundamentally transform it."
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, describes Holder's plan as "yet another illustration of the lawlessness of [the Obama] administration." He points out that in last summer's ruling on the federal Defense of Marriage Act, the U.S. Supreme Court was "conspicuously silent" regarding the status of same-sex couples who reside in a state that doesn't recognize "gay marriage."
"The Obama administration's haste to nevertheless recognize such unions in every state actually runs counter to the [Supreme Court] decision's emphasis on the federal government's obligation to defer to state definitions of marriage," adds Perkins.
The FRC spokesman believes Holder's announcement further emphasizes the importance of the State Marriage Defense Act (H.R. 3829), introduced by Congressman Randy Weber (R-Texas). -One News Now
