Today, Carl Gibson has had ENOUGH of America’s complacency! It’s great that we can post things here on our blog and on Facebook and share them. That’s a start. But we are never going to be truly heard until we get up, get out and get real about making this world a better place.
Today the House passed a bill that would deregulate derivatives five years after the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression–caused by deregulated derivatives. Funny enough, the members of the House that voted ”yes” on the bill received 18 TIMES AS MUCH FROM WALL STREET as the people that voted “no”.
Basically, this is the banks saying [to Congress], “Hey, here’s some money. Can you guys make sure that we can get more money? Even though we have so much already? Like, more than we can spend in a lifetime… or our child’s lifetime… or our grandchild’s lifetime… We’d like some MORE money. So can you do this even though it’s totally reckless and irresponsible and WILL LIKELY CAUSE ANOTHER CRASH?
Can y’all do that? Here’s some money. We’ll make sure you get re-elected.
And the Congressman says, “Sure, we don’t give a shit about what’s good for people… Or what’s good for the economy… Or what’s good for families or homeowners. You know, we like money too. And we’d like to keep our jobs so we can keep this gravy train rolling. So, sure I’ll vote for the bill.”
And that’s how it goes. That’s exactly how Congress goes.
You can make a call and you can write a letter and you can vote for the lesser of two evils every couple of years. That’s what you get to do. But unless you have gobs of money to throw at these fuckers they aren’t going to listen to you. They aren’t going to take you seriously.
What are you going to do? Sign another petition? Yeah, that’s going to make a big difference when they are looking at that petition and that check from Goldman Sachs for $30K.
Shit is not going to change without a revolution. Russell Brand is right. You can’t seriously call this a legitimate system of government. You can’t call this representative government. You can’t say that this is a responsible democratic constitutional government. It hasn’t been that way in a long time.
This is pay for play. It’s a brothel. Congress will put out as much as they are willing to put in. WE can’t afford to put in so WE aren’t getting anything out of it. Wall Street can put in all they want to and they get plenty out of it.
These fuckers are going to keep doing this shit and shit is going to keep getting worse until we just throw the fuckers out. And get rid of the money in politics.
Move to Amend ought to work. The WE THE PEOPLE amendment. Corporations are NOT people. Money is NOT speech.
We all know that Wall Street caused this mess. We all know who should be held accountable. Why aren’t we making them pay? Why aren’t they in jail? Why are we allowing Fox, Murdoch, Limbaugh, Beck, Palin, etc. to LIE and run the narrative in this country.
The only reason why this is continuing is because WE continue to sit on our asses and commiserate, instead of getting out and getting mad enough and shaking people awake!
WE THE PEOPLE are not stepping up. We’re too afraid of getting arrested. We’re too afraid of losing our 9-5 wage slavery indentured servitude sentence.
We can choose to sit back and accept it or we can choose to take back our representative government…
It’s going to take ALL OF US to do some BIG SHIT, to accept our fear and confront it and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
Carl and Lee Camp (who spoke out about this earlier this week) are right, we are being too meek… too complacent… too ”politically correct”. We have to take a stand for what we believe in. Will YOU be doing something more than the status quo? -The Everlasting GOP Stoppers
