Ingredients:
1 Pkg Yellow Cake Mix
2 Pks Orange Jello
1 Pk Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 Cup 2% Milk
2 large eggs
2 Tsp Vanilla
1 Tub Cool Whip
Directions:
Bake the cake as directed in a 9x13" pan. Let cake cool completely. Poke holes in cooled cake. Mix 1 package orange gelatin dessert with 1 c. boiling water and 1 c. cold water. Pour over cake. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Mix pudding mix with cold milk the other package of orange gelatin dessert and vanilla. Beat by hand with a whisk until thickened. Fold in the whipped topping. Frost the cake with the pudding mixture.

the cake wont look like this of course.... but the flavor will be much the same :) making this tomorrow.... it will be yummy either way....
ReplyDeletewell, I was WRONG.. I did make the cake yesterday and it was basically a THING of kind of ORANGE stuff... I am going to tweak this recipe and make it deelicious... btw, what were the eggs for???? no where in your directions does it call for 2 large eggs? I dont like signing this as Anonymous so here is my info....

HMMMM...... The directions say it is a "poke" cake (you poke holes in the baked cake and pour whatever in it) but the picture is clearly a layer cake!
ReplyDeleteI did make this and it looked almost exactly like it...I doubled the full recipe and split the batter up between three 8"x8" pans.Then I did it like a three layer cake..I used a nice size sqaure platter and laid down the first cake with the orange jello on top ,then iced that with a generous amount of the icing. I repeated that with the other two layers and then iced the whole cake. Sprinkle grated orange peel for the garnish and VOILA great creamsicle three layer cake...it does make a big cake so good for birthdays!! Hope that helped.
