Crosby explained that the average gas price is calculated about 3 a.m. each day and taken from credit card receipts, so if prices are up after 3 a.m., AAA won't know about it until the next morning. Thursday, AAA had Myrtle Beach's average gas price at $3.07, a 3-cent increase overnight.
A year ago, Crosby said, the average gallon of gas cost $2.55. –Read more at SunNews
