Though you may disagree with an individuals life-style choices, it is no reason to sit back and keep silent when wrong and hate is allowed to manifest itself in the form of murder. Being murdered for who you are is not a social value, and in God’s eyes, sitting in our comfort zone and not speaking out against intolerance and bigotry, we are equally in the wrong.
Yes, it may not be your concern. It may not affect you directly. But in the long run, if we keep silent on any issue that involves hate of any kind, we are opening the doors to further intolerance that may one day come to sit on your own door step. And when this happens, who will speak out for you? No one, cause by this time hate will have triumphed and there will be no one left to care for you.
No, I don’t advocate that every one should flaunt their life-style. But I do believe that we should respect each person’s choices and allow them to be all that they can be without fear of being shunned or rejected, even murdered. Being directly or indirectly murdered is like so totally wrong and inexcusable, and as a civil society, we should be ashamed of ourselves in how we treat those who may be different than us.
It’s time to stop social and religious bigotry and intolerance. It is time to save our children, regardless of their skin color and life-style choices. Do you have the guts? I certainly hope so! Stand up and be what we all should be … defending the week, loving the individual, and understand that they too have a place at the table of life.
