According to Snopes.com [see link below], if you see a seemingly ordinary plastic water bottle with a cap and which contains some harmless-looking liquid which someone left in your lawn or yard, BE CAREFUL and WARY.
DO NOT just pick it up and put it in your trash bin.
The ordinary, normal-appearing and harmless-looking plastic water bottle with a cap and liquid may literally be a home-made bomb.
The bottle may contain a little Drano dissolved in water along with a small piece of aluminum foil which, if disturbed by moving the bottle, may explode in less than 30 seconds. The explosion can cause bodily harm---e.g., loss of fingers and damage to the face, eyes, etc.
