This Weeks Sound Off

This week President Obama singed the expanded hate crimes law named after Matthew Shepard who was brutally murdered simply because he was gay.

This new expanded law protects gay’s lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders. Though I applaud this new bill, I have an issue including bisexuals … this group of people should not have been included. Bisexuals are nothing more than, by choice, sexual flip-floppers.

Bisexuals have no clue as to how it feels to be hated, injured or discriminated against, thus are an insignificant group in the fight for equality and protection. To include this group is a slap in the face to all gays, lesbians and transgenders! To claim that bisexuality is a disadvantaged group is insane and to bring them in under the umbrella of the hate crimes bill is unconscionable. Bisexuality is nothing more than a choice whereas being gay, lesbian or transgender is not.

If bisexuals want a bill of their own then they should stand alone and not ride on the coattails of us who have been through the fire. I have little to no sympathy for bisexuals!

White House says the recession is over and that 650,000 jobs were created or saved by $150 billion in stimulus funds.

650,000 jobs is not a whole heck of a lot. Here in Myrtle Beach people are hurting … seriously hurting!

Think the White House needs a reality check! Cause the recession certainly isn’t over and it’s being said that the job market isn’t due to see significant improvements till mid 2010.

I still maintain that the recession ain’t over yet … I think that darker days linger on the horizon. We haven’t hit bottom yet!
