I really don't understand the big deal over Illinois Gov. Blagojevich hoopla. Yeah, he's a crook! And? Hey, Chicago politics was and is about officials on the take. Right or wrong, it's what put Chicago on the map and continues to be headlines! Nevertheless, those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!
In my opinion, from the Presidency down to the cop on the street, most everyone are on the take! What's the difference between Gov. Blagojevich trying to sell a senate seat and our representatives and senators in Washington, DC? Nothing! Those sitting under the capital dome is no better than Blagojevich. When we voters and corporations "donate" to any one's campaign ... isn't this buying a seat? When special interests "donate" to a politician's pocket for a "favorable" vote ... isn't this buying a vote? After all, politics is all about the almighty dollar. Who has or gets the most, WINS!
If we're going to punish Blagojevich then we need to do the same with all those who are on the take. Politics is dirty and it's high time to clean it up.
